Captain Diana Stark
Born in an artist colony--Nuove Venezia--on Mars in 2237, Diana lived among a small group of people who revived the ancient beliefs of the Roman pantheon. Her father, Philemon, was an engineer who worked on the biosystems in their colony. Philemon met Diana's mother, Kaile, shortly after she arrived at NV. He was not aware of her non-human status. It wasn't until after they were married and she became pregnant with their daughter, Diana, that her medical differences were discovered. Rather than reveal her planet of origin, Kaile threatened to leave with the unborn child and never return. The colony decided that, as a whole, they would rather she not reveal her true nature and stay with the child than the alternative. Diana was born and shortly thereafter, Kaile disappeared.
It was not until official contact was made with those claiming to represent what was left of the race of El-Aurians that Diana's biology was explained. As a child she seemed to progress as normally as the other children and thus has happy memories of her childhood. It was not until later, when she chose to enter Starfleet that slow aging
became a question.
Diana has gone through Starfleet Academy twice. Once in the 2200s and more recently during the 2300s. After Medical School, she matriculated Starfleet in 2258 under such great professors as John Gill. She was commissioned in 2262 and began her career as a junior medical officer on the staff of a Constitution class ship, USS Lexington. She was stationed aboard the vessel during the M5 attack. Subsequently, she as honored for her heroism in medicine during that fateful attack. She transferred to another vessel earning the rank of Lieutenant and the title of Chief of Surgery.
After her tour of duty aboard the USS Farragut ended, Diana continued on and earned the rank of captain taking on an early predecessor to the Olympus class and heading a hospital ship during the Federation-Klingon War which finally was led to peace at Khitomer.
By now it was apparent to anyone that knew her for longer than several years that Diana did not age. At least, her face did not bear the marks. She was married during her tenure aboard the hospital ship but it was short lived as he soon was disturbed by her lack of aging. From that point forward, Diana created a distance from her human family choosing to enjoy life without a partner. She has never had children and until recently never wanted children.
Leaving Starfleet at the age of fifty-five, Diana looked twenty-five in 2293. During the war, Dr. Stark discovered the mystic beliefs of the Vulcans and began to study them. After her retirement she took off for Vulcan wanting to convert her beliefs and become a monk. Her religious fervor, like that of many converts, was intense rapture.
Because of her El-Aurian bloodline, the Vulcans at a monastery much like that of P'Jem, took her in as a postulant feeling she would be able to master herself. She spent the next thirty years in the monastery learning meditation and control becoming only a novice in all that time. Her human side kept her from achieving the complete mastery of her emotions that was required.
Upon leaving the monastery she headed for the Hoobishan Baths. All fun and games, she lasted several years there as a 'towel bearer' by the name of Bubbles. In that time, she had an opportunity to observe races from many parts of the galaxy at their most vulnerable. She developed her predilection for exotic partners during her years on Trill. This is a trait she keeps well hidden and feels unnecessary to reveal as she has managed to keep it in check with extreme adrenaline rushes during atmospheric diving. Diana loves to dress up and be admired, a weakness she still will not admit to having.
After the baths, in 2333, she began to study Xenobiology. Science became a new passion for her as she re-immersed herself in studies. In order to facilitate her further studies she traveled extensively throughout the universe using her contacts from the Baths. Diana has a very large network of contacts throughout the Alpha and Beta Quadrants as she traveled for twenty plus years in various forms, from researcher of Xenobiology, Anthropology, Archeology, etc to deck hand on a cargo ship of questionable intent.
Tiring of the nomadic life, she chose to return to Starfleet in 2373. Her previous experience in Starfleet put her on a fast track through science and medical studies and re-entered with the commission rank of Lieutenant rather than Captain, her previous retired rank in 2375. She received the rank of Lieutenant Commander shortly thereafter and her career goals of exploration and science have led her to candidacy for command.
During her tenure as commanding officer of USS Galileo, there was an incident in which the crew found themselves on a planet with LSD type mushrooms spores. She and a crew member, Zorn Boal, liased and 8 months later, she produced a bouncing baby boy.
Since taking on the command of the Task Force main hub, Diana has been trying to keep up and realizing slowly that she can't. Dodai Yaari, her longtime love and mate has joined her. They are currently raising their son, Yale as a family unit.

| Physical Description | Physical Description: Diana is a short female humanoid. Her shoulder length hair falls in waves and has tighter curls at the neckline. She normally keeps it up in a French twist or simply twisted up to let curls flow over the clip. She has a compact body which she prides herself in being in top physical condition. It is decidedly curvy which annoys her as she would prefer a longer, sleeker, and less feminine physique. She is more comfortable in jumpsuits now that the requisite mini-skirt has left the uniform plate for the average female officer in Starfleet (which she is very grateful for). Diana has a tattoo of Yuri Gagarin on an undisclosed part of her body. |

| Personality Traits and General Overview: Diana Stark is a woman of emotion though she's fought hard against this most of her life and finally accepted it. She was raised among artists and engineers and has no qualms about letting her feelings known. This diminutive officer has been described as feisty, driven, and manipulative. Her smile draws you in and before you know it, she's got you wrapped around her finger. This is something she denies and is careful not to overuse this talent. Shattered love affairs have kept Diana more careful with her heart. She approaches relationships with the warmth of an artist but has learned to keep platonic love to the front. The only exception to this is the now known long time love Dodai Yaari. For over 100 years they have gone back and forth in each other's lives and only now are settling into more "traditional" roles of family since the birth of Yale. Daredevil moves have marked her life and career. While to the outside they do seem daring, she has a reason for all that she does and calculates carefully. Her monastic experiences have taught her to analyze while her fun-loving spirit washes each decision with life and spontaneity thus giving the impression of recklessness at first until the reality of her motives become clear. |
